During April Vacation Week, 20 youth and six chaperones traveled to New Orleans to engage in service and mission with Camp Restore.  We worked at Love In Action food pantry, two community gardens, Rescue Ranch (rescuing horses AND working with at risk-youth), ARC of New Orleans where we sorted Mardis Gras beads to be recycled, cleaned at , took a late night bike tour of New Orleans with NOLA City Lights, ate beignets TWICE at Cafe Du Monde, embarked on a Cajun Man Swamp Tour,  visited Robert Green in the Lower 9th Ward, toured the National World War II Museum, visited Covenant House (a shelter for teens and young adults) and had breakfast at Liberty’s Kitchen.  We are grateful for all we shared and learned, and were blessed by many angel people in New Orleans.
